Indochino (from Vancouver) charges $500-$600 for a fully custom, perfectly fit suit I seem to recall? More expensive than off the rack, but damn don’t well fitted clothes feel and look good?
(Plus you only need one, and they last like twenty years)

Has it been obvious I’ve only lurked this part of the thread since I’ve owned precisely one suit in 45 years, I outgrew it 25 years ago, and have neither needed nor wanted one since? And that I hope to God those circumstances don’t change since I really have no idea what could possibly look good on me?

For men like us, off the rack jackets tend to have ‘wings’. As in when we get tall they get really, really wide. This also happens to super skinny guys, and isn’t flattering.
Off the rack pants almost always, for men like us, poof out at the pocket. So while we aren’t fat, they make us look like walking squid. Also if they aren’t tailored they either drag on the ground or look like we are abounding high water.
For us tall dudes, tight fitting jackets with wide shoulders, and straight no pleat pants are most fetching.
Under no circumstance wear a double breasted coat. Unless it is an am Capone Halloween costume.

I think for me, it’s a bit like watching car shows about supercars? Like, I’m not going to own anything they drive, but I might one day see one IRL but even that doesn’t actually matter?
Would it be embarrassing to admit I am totally stoked to have bought about 5 years worth of reasonable looking plain cotton T-shirts the other day for 59c each as a bulk order?
