LOL, I think I remember one of the discourse team talking about imagemagic being buried pretty deep in the gubbins of the thing and the way it interprets images being baked that way for now… or something?

Anyone know how long totality is supposed to last?

another 30 mins or so I think… maybe 40?

Don’t we have a stupid tree east of us?

And am I not lacking a tripod, a zoom lens or a way of remotely controlling the camera?

But how good is this for lacking a tripod?!

Could it have been more perfect, that few minutes leading into totality?

Why?

Maybe a smoke with a generous friend earlier
Viewable from our front yard
Blink-and-you-miss-it element gone
Great weather
Mrs. sb in the next camp chair over
Good drink in hand
Good Nikon binos getting passed around
Kids watching
Neighbors watching

Good night?

Indeed.

Well, didn’t we get out there and see the darn thing? Technically, didn’t it happen while we were on the return leg of our nightly walk? Weren’t we surprised by the unusually large number of folks out on the street, wanting to see the moon?

Wasn’t the moon pretty neat lookin’?

Isn’t that remarkably generous of you?

Shouldn’t I go back upstairs now it’s away from the tree?

A bunch of windows in my street facing the eclipse were all lit up and I could hear lots of people talking and the girls in number 19 sort of making scared noises and whoops for a while, but everybody’s since gone to bed… too cold and nuffink to see, I guess?

Although, is that a orangey halo I sort of detect right now?

Or did I splash some cab sav on the lens?

But can’t you understand that the tree foreground framing it makes the shot?
