I hit the Frontier several times when I was in grad school in Socorro. Plus trips south to the Owl Bar in San Antonio for their green chili cheeseburger.
I has been too long since I have been to the Frontier. May it remain open as long as UNM!
Hmm, you can get good chile anywhere in NM. Giant cinnamon rolls make the Frontier special.
The Frontier can be either a complete zoo (weekend mornings) or a bit “interesting” late in the evening.
Golden Pride FTW - there are a few in ABQ and I usually hit the one up NE of the Air Force base if I need to go to Sandia Labs (Los Alamos-ian here). And they have good fried chicken! Another one is up near the UNM hospital…
Oh, also note that the flour tortillas are fresh-made and are, as noted, very good.
Late night diner dining is the best.
This place looks great - I can only imagine what the flat top looks like there. Talk about seasoned.
We have a favorite 24 hour diner that’s been here since 1949. They never close, even for holidays.
Going there after a show or something at 1am is usually an interesting experience.
