Huzzah for dog-monsters. It’s always a bit surprising how well breeding wolves to produce unconditional love turned out; but it turned out well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that trope had resulted in various sports amending their rules to specifically forbid non-human competitors.

Well, wolves/wild dogs are persistence hunters, too. It’s one of the lines of evidence for their amicable domestication.
“Oh, you stick-throwing monkeys run down exhausted, terrified prey, too? Cool, mind if I hang out for a bit?”
