It would be less obviously ridiculous if he (falsely) said, “I’m going to get in trouble for what I’m saying to you now,” but he had to go full-on absurd by claiming he was prevented from saying the things he was saying. The most ridiculous bit is that his supporters will hear him say that, and think, “Oh, that’s terrible that he’s silenced, and we can’t hear him say the things that he said, to the press, which they are now repeating. He’s being censored!”
