Mr Trump wrote in a post on his new blog: “Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before.”
Dollars to donuts, whatever aide/advisor recommended this desk convinced him by saying it would make him look HUGE. That was the last day the aide worked in the WH.
It took me a moment to realize that web rings have been superseded by RSS feeds. I was like, how can a blog stand alone if it isn’t in a web ring with a bunch of other blogs, which themselves don’t exist because people moved away from blogs like 15 years ago?
thousands? the website is done by Brad Pascale who claims it runs on his own original “digital ecosystem” called Campaign Nucleus*. There is no way the grift on this site is less than $10 million
example of his previous grifting:
*again the website is “not coordinated with any campaign” so no taxes
I thought this was going to be bad but this exceeds all expectations. Its like he puts something up there just after he wakes up after a nap which was proceeded by an angry rant. No dates or times for posting, little context. His enablers have given up I think (hopefully).
I’m citation needed on that. When they retire they are often called “former taoiseach” here, but while still working they are given their current job title such as “leader of the opposition xxxxxx party” or deputy prime minister (the job title of the current ex taoiseach (PM)). To be fair he does get accidentally called Taoiseach regularly and whoever makes the slip of the tongue is mocked relentlessly for it. That he gets called that is used as a stick to beat the current leadership.
The whole Manly-Man, I Take Shit From No One, Republican macho thing is garbage. It never fails to amaze me how Trump can shit on these people and they just wag their tails and keep following him around.
I’m not finding it quickly, but as I recall from when I HAD to know this stuff, there are certain titles that are used ever after, President (of the U.S.) being the prime example. Obviously putting ‘former’ in the text somewhere is a good idea, but the title itself apparently sticks. In a social setting, for example, you wouldn’t introduce him as Mr. Trump anymore.
I mean, I would, but I would mean it to be a breach of normal usage.
I think I’ve heard it with non elected positions (like general or admiral and the like) but it seems mad to me that you can retain a political title like minister, or taoiseach, or president. I mean both currently living Irish presidents are sometimes referred to as former president but never as president.
