So: for those of you who have suddenly acquired a deep concern for the welfare of the Kurds, are you going to maintain that sympathy if they’re fighting alongside new Syrian/Iranian/Russian allies? Or was that concern only for Kurds that are aligned with the USA?
I know that your comment isn’t directed at me, but my concern is the survival of the DFNS as a libertarian-socialist entity. My first BBS comment about Rojava was nearly four years ago.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of the DFNS surviving as a partially autonomous region within a postwar Syria?
It appears that cooperation with the Syrian Arab Army is their only chance of holding off the Turks, but it is unclear what Assad’s attitude towards the DFNS is likely to be. He’s unlikely to be tolerant of their goals, but he’s also not going to be happy with the idea of Turkey invading more of northern Syria.
