Donny Osmand pleases crowd with killer Bowie cover

Gail Ann Dorsey, Bowie’s AMAZING bassist from the mid-'90s on, actually played with Donny Osmond in the '80s! She mentioned it in an interview I did with her earlier this year for the Please Kill Me website.

“They were like, ‘Hey, Donny Osmond is coming back.’ It was 1986, and he was making a comeback. He was putting on a leather jacket and trying to be George Michael, or whatever was going on at the time. They had done this cool album with him, and they were doing all these TV shows around the UK, and all these variety shows. And then they were like, ‘Hey, you’d look cool with Donny Osmond.’”

(I can’t post the link here but it’s easily found through a search on the Please Kill Me site; she was extremely interesting!)

I need that bowtie yesterday.

When will it be up in the BB Store?

Also I cannot recommend enough this excellent hike/interview with Kevin Nealon.

You all realize this was totally lip-synced, right?
Donny boy might be a decent entertainer and all but he never had that kind of vocal range.
At the very least let’s just say he had . . . help with the vocals.
Watch where the microphone is and listen to the volume of the lyrics.
When you move the mic from your lips to two feet away the volume should go down.
Also WTF is with two microphones???
I’m just saying.

I thought that was a fun, silly touch to the obvious lip syncing.
