Reminds me of "Idols of Perversity: Fantasies of Feminine Evil in Fin-de-Siecle Culture" by Bram Djikstra. The book discusses (among other things) the allowable erotic depictions of women in the late nineteenth century, by distancing the subjects from everyday life. One whole chapter was devoted to levitating goddesses and nymphs. Nude, of course.
Although this artist is approaching airborne women from a completely different direction both philosophically and gravitationally.
