One possible response to the obvious hypocrisy re: Yemen and Syria is to claim that chemical weapons are a special kind of evil, justifying an extreme response.

It’s also worth noting that the US routinely uses cluster bombs, which are banned by assorted international conventions. It also routinely uses white phosphorus as an anti-personnel weapon.

Ha, agreed. It came to mind just now when I read your post above about hypocritical U.S. claims about the evil of chemical weapons when used by others.

I loved the Arundhati Roy segment.

That was the first time I’ve ever heard unapologetic anti-imperialism given airtime on a major US media outlet.
