But it’ll be nice for the US troops taking part in the upcoming humanitarian campaign to be deployed closer to home than usually, and roughly in the same time zone. A shorter commute and no jet lag; what’s not to like?
Personally, I’m thrilled by the lengths the current US administration is willing to go in order to make this 1980ies-revival a rousing success.
A budding nuclear arms race, interventionist policies, right-wing nuts in key positions, Reagonomics on speed… Why, they’ll even build a wall we can tear down in a couple of years to round things off.
What a great opportunity to re-live my late teens/early twens. As long as we manage to avoid those shoulder pads and wearing linen blazers over pastel t-shirts, we’re good.
