Ahh, good enough is good enough. Itās a kitchen scale. The really accurate scales arenāt worth the money they cost for home use. Pound cakes are pretty tolerant to small deviations in mass. So much so that Americans are all too happy to measure by volume rather than weight.
Speak for yourself. It drives me up the wall when recipes give volumetric measurements for compressible ingredients. Thereās a huge variance to the amount of brown sugar in one cup, depending how packed it is. I guess the assumption is that the average home cook doesnāt have a scale, but if more recipes used weight measurements then more home cooks would have scales.
Preach it. Frickinā everything is measured in cups. Even green beans. Iām, what, supposed to blend the fuckers first or something?
