Elizabeth Warren quits race

Um, probably not. She’s in the same age range as Sanders and Biden. This was it for everyone still in the running as of yesterday.

I think you should watch her with Colbert, and try again. https://youtu.be/8u6v2DbTyi4

So Bland-as-sand Biden and Berate-Everybody Bernie have charisma but Warren does not?

I had no idea it was produced in the testicles.

Indeed, but if she wants to run again, VP is by far her most promissing vector.

You think that the Democrats did not vote for her because she is a woman?

I am embarrassed for my hometown.

though in Fairfax County, Michael R. Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York, won more votes than did Ms. Warren.

“By far?” Debatable. Excluding cases of presidential deaths or resignation, in our country’s history only four VP.s went on to ascend directly to the presidency. Of course, this may be a special case as Biden is already in his late 70’s and therefore less likely than many predecessors to serve a full term, so maybe that’s the path you’re referring to?

Regardless, giving up a valuable seat in the senate because you think it might position you slightly better to win a future election seems like it’s not worth the risk.

Fair enough. I was not thinking about Biden’s age, rather her perceived viability should she serve as VP. She would likely not play a passive role, thereby confounding past VP’s metrics.

Ah, how soon they forget President Cheney

Women do tend to be bland and boring compared to populist men… /s

BTW, it’s misogyny.

But who takes over when Biden|Sanders kicks the bucket?

Better than the number of sitting senators who ascended except when they were running against other sitting senators. (Two: Kennedy and Harding.)

Next time we will need a female multi-racial democratic socialist, but somehow I can still see the neoliberals managing to try to come up with “so and so is problematic, because they have managed to reel in disenfranchised sexists / racists who hate wall street, and she’s letting them vote for her!!” I even ran across lame think pieces trying to claim Bernie was anti-semitic or that it’s horrible anti-semitic people might vote for him and “reify” the “he’s one of the good ones!” sentiment. The concern trolling just gets dumber and dumber the more desperate the capitalists get.

I’m not sure that particular issue would affect the BBC too much, though.

seems much more likely in that instance.

Thanks for this link. It is another example of how Warren has been serving, more than anyone else, as the conscience of the Party

On a side note, I didn’t realize that mmfa did this kind of activist activity in opposition to a network; I thought they officially were neutral observers.

Disagree. Lots and lots of folks who don’t want Trump to be president but who will just stay home if there’s not a “viable” alternative.

Though, of the two, Vermont’s Phil Scott is more likely to nominate a moderate democrat for that senate seat just to give Trump the finger. Scott endorsed Bill Weld vs. Trump in the primary.

I did. She was hilarious, and had more charisma in her little finger than Sanders and Biden (and Buttigeig and Klobuchar) combined. That interaction (“You just ate pre-K childcare, you jerk!”) was more genuine than anything I’ve seen with a candidate since Obama was running in 2008.
