I donāt know how many times I have to point out that I have never accused this guy (I donāt even know his name) of pedophilia. Not even once.
I have no way of knowing, and as far as I can tell, neither does anyone else in this thread. Nearly everyone here is basing their opinion of Muskās allegations on whether they admire, like, hate, envy or respect Elon Musk. Thatās a total abandonment of rationality (unless perhaps you are intimately and personally acquainted with Musk, which I am not.)
The ālogicā being thrown at me in this thread seems to be this:
I pointed out that many respectable sources say there is a child sex industry in Thailand.
That is exactly the same thing as saying Elon Musk is god and that all westerners and divers in Thailand are pedophiles.
I canāt really adequately respond to that level of insanity. Itās frustrating.
Thereās a massive amount of guilt-by-vague-acknowledgement going on in this thread. Apparently merely mentioning the fact that SpaceX has a pioneering space program means that you are best buds with Elon and forgive any dumb stuff he said, and mentioning that Elon is probably jumping to conclusions based on the infamous Thai child-sex industry means that you, yourself, are possibly a pedophile. How about we stop that crap?

When I read the posts saying Musk is attacking a guilty or innocent man, I see people passing judgment based on no evidence actually related to the case (because we donāt have any of that, as far as I can tell). Not one person here is claiming to know Elon Musk or the Thai cave diver well enough to know whether either one is telling the truth. They are just confirming pre-existing biases for or against Musk.
I donāt engage that person as we have a mutual agreement not to, but I have to speak up for myself when other people arbitrarily deign to try and do it for me:

My opinion of this stupid grudge-turned-defamation is exactly what I stated above, regardless to who Musk is or how I feel about him personallyā¦ the later of which is simply that Iām tired of hearing about the guy, period.
Nevertheless, my stance remains the same.
It takes a seriously fucked up person to either:
A) Know about children being sexually abused and not say anything until they are mad at the person perpetrating the abuse,
or
B) Make up the worst rumor you can think of about someone because they āmade you mad.ā
Either way, someone like that is a shitty fucking person.
And you donāt know what information I have. And I say Musk is the real pedo.
Musk was embarrassed by the diver and he struck back at the only thing available-- the diver is an expatriate living in a country that has, among other features, a child sex industry. Muskās response is Trumpish.
The logic is that there is no connection between the diver and the child sex industry, so why did you bring it up? Not only that, but you claimed that the child sex āindustryā in Thailand is āhuge, hugeā, as though it rivals any actual industry there; as though, like Musk, you thought that it would be a reasonable thing to suppose that the only reason anyone would expatriate there would be for the child sex. This is not a reasonable thing to suppose.
It is an unreasonable thing to attack someone because of this supposition; if Musk had any information on it, as a responsible citizen he would have shared it with the relevant authorities, and then shut up about it so as to not to compromise the investigation. If, on the other hand, this twitter attack is just what it looks like, a billionaire without an appreciation of how much his spite can hurt ordinary people, then it is an unreasonable thing to support his attack by pretending that it might be reasonable. It is not.
Before one makes any appeals to logic, it really, really behooves one to check oneās own logic.
