A False Flag attack doesn’t require the victim to agree to be attacked. It just requires the appearance of the perpetrator being different than who actually commits the attack.
And yes, this will be the exact response.

They don’t have to try. Unfortunately his skin color is indictment enough for far too much of the population.
This wouldn’t fall under the bill, because someone has to die under the recent bill. Sadly that bill is actually weaker than the Dyer lynching bill introduced a century ago as far as police allowing lynchings.

I can’t recall any point in my lifetime when a popular political slogan from ANY major party was adopted as a rallying cry for violent racists.
Hillary supporters didn’t terrorize people with “Stronger Together!” Romney supporters didn’t beat people up while yelling “Believe in America!" Even in the darkest days of Ralph Nader’s campaign there weren’t bands of violent thugs running around in baseball caps emblazoned with “Government Of, By, and For the People…Not the Monied Interests.”

So, is everyone still against punching Nazis, or has it become very obvious that these magassholes do not listen to words or reason, and sometimes the fear of physical damage may be all that keeps them in check (i.e. I’m betting that if he’d been out with a couple of friends, the attackers wouldn’t have chosen to take on greater numbers.)

The Defenders of Whiteness that are showing up here are simply missing the point. Jussie Smollet wasn’t attacked because of the color of his attackers, Jussie Smollet was attacked because he is black and gay.
When it turns out that the people who threatened him with lynching are white supremacists, that will merely be the underlining and bold emphasis on a functionally complete statement of hate.

Welcome, new trolls! If you are here to claim that the part of this story about Smollett’s attackers saying “This is MAGA country” is unfounded or false then please don’t. TMZ got additional confirmation from the Chicago PD less than an hour ago that Smollett did indeed report his attackers saying that.
