Hunter is no saint, but the anchor they are trying to make him into…hhaha
As for those paintings - ok - you know what, I am impressed. These are competent and pleasant to look at. I like the colors, the form and shapes, and the compositions. While abstract, some of it is very surreal. Some of those look like 70s paper back novel covers.
Like George W. Bush is “Sunday painter” or “folk artist” quality… Glad he has a hobby that keeps him out of politics, but they are meh. But these look like competent modern art works.

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he believed it. Complete lack of self awareness, combined with growing up sealed in a bubble where behaviors like tax evasion and theft were normalized. I’m sure in his mind, excuses like ‘everyone does it’ and ‘no one who matters was affected’ are pingponging back and forth through the vacuum. Out here in reality, not everyone has a multimillion dollar charity to rob, and the consequences to us ‘little people’ matter, if only to us.
