Indeed; 45โ€™s camp seems to think that using their โ€˜2016 play bookโ€™ will work again, despite the glaringly obvious differences between now and back then.

Mostly that misogyny and racism are unlikely to work against an old white guy. I guess they have not parsed that particular nugget of wisdom yet.

over on the coronavirus thread, there were a couple of mentions that made me think the โ€œletterโ€ was basically a website where you could add your own name and list your supposed credentials.

and heโ€™s not a woman.

individual voters can almost plausibly claim to not like clinton because of her policies or demeanor or whatever, but the gop apparatus targeted her for years based on her gender. they cultivated a generalized dislike and mistrust of her

biden not so much. the biggest thing they seem to come up with is heโ€™s old. but trump and biden either one will be the oldest president ever, so it doesnโ€™t stick well. they canโ€™t trot out any of the likeability tropes they worked so long on.

 This.

I remember the excitement when Clinton
ran for president in 1991 and I also remember hatred for Hillary Clinton. It seemed to me this was because she was a potential First Lady who was a practicing lawyer and not a stay-at-home. Apparently, itโ€™s a sin for Democratic women to have ambition. AFAIK, know, Amy Coney Barrett is equally ambitious, but you know how it is.

Iโ€™m not the only POC to call out Ice Cubeโ€™s coonery:

Shame on you, Oshay Jackson; take your privileged position in society and go fuck yourself with it.

One of my personal nightmares is that Trump loses the election, and is driven out of DC. He sets up a government-in-exile at Mar-a-Lago, and continues to issue executive orders, which the Federal LEOโ€™s follow.

I wish it were more implausible, but it appears that some of the agencies are perfectly content to be his personal goon squads, and why would that change just because of the election?

Yes, and Trump wants to make his federal agent presence at BLM protests a permanent feature of all cities. I get it, and I also get that the sense of magnitude in the two bad plans means theyโ€™re not equal.

There were reports before all this that were questioning whether she was โ€œup to the taskโ€. Now we know.

Hugging Graham? That evil SoB has done more harm and deserves no less than spit.

Feinstein has done a few good things over her career but has also been a disappointment on a number of issues for a long, long time. Sheโ€™s still in support of a constitutional amendment to ban flag burning, for crying out loud. We in California could definitely do better but I guess that, given her age, this is likely going to be her final term.
