When’s the last time we’ve seen these two be happily affectionate toward one another? Their little tiff at the debate with her visibly yanking her hand away and him seemingly giving her a retaliatory shove in the back is the polar opposite of what’s going on here. Have they ever appeared this happy together?
The real question: did Trump start hiring body doubles because a) something’s wrong with Melania, b) she’s abandoned any attempts at maintaining the illusion that she likes him, or is Melania the one hiring body doubles (for either of those reasons) and Trump hasn’t caught on?
Sorry, I just don’t buy the body double theory because there’s absolutely no way they would be able to keep a secret like that in an administration this incompetent.
The explanation for that is simple. Once the electoral votes come in and they don’t look positive… he’ll do this
I dunno. there seem to be more than one Melania these days. 
She’s a model; her whole appearance is an artificial construct and is therefore subject to change. Plus she’s been sick so her weight, complexion, makeup and who knows what else may be different than in previous public appearances.
I simply don’t find it plausible that the leakiest administration in memory wouldn’t have produced so much as a peep hinting about a stunt as brazen as “swapping in a body double to pose as the First Lady.” Just think how many people would need to be in on the scam to pull it off, then ask yourself “does Donald Trump even know that many competent people?” The risk-to-reward ratio is also bonkers: appearing in public without Melania wouldn’t be a big deal, but getting caught trying to pass off a fake Melania would be a humiliating scandal even by Trump standards.
Plus it’s really, really hard for a body double to fool anyone who actually knows the person in question for any period of time. And I’m speaking as an identical twin.
over the 26 years i’ve taught i’ve encountered numerous twins. one year i taught one of identical twin girls who tried to be funny at one point and switched out their classes. i had her in 4th period and within 5 minutes i figured it out and i waited a few minutes and then called on her using her actual name, saying something like “jessi, come here a second.” and she got up and started to my desk before she realized she’d been caught. the funniest part to me was that she “passed” for her sister and her sister had done the same for her for the first three classes. but body language and vocal patterns gave away the game for me.
Trump fans were making similar claims about Hillary back in 2016. Obviously those were baseless nonsense too.

Yeah again for me it’s less about “would Trump be brazen enough to try this?” than “would Trump be competent enough to pull it off, even for a few minutes?”

Yup, “scientific integrity” is now a dirty word. Biden needs to absolutely clean house and fire anyone appointed by or approved by Il Douche. Just start fresh. And make sure the assholes are remembered. They can find work with OANN or Faux News but never again with actual policy or s scientific impact.
