If prankster kids are really responsible for the sparse turnout then that’s brilliant.
If prankster kids weren’t really responsible but have now convinced the Trump campaign that they were then that’s also brilliant.
Maybe Trump will dedicate an extended portion of his next rally to explaining how the venue at Tulsa was actually filled to capacity, more people than the city had ever seen.

Reminds me of the political prankster Dick Tuck, who pulled many pranks against Nixon over the years. His first one was as a college student in 1950 when he booked a very large auditorium on the UC Santa Barbara campus for Nixon (then a senate candidate) to give a speech, scheduled during a week of exams when he knew few would attend. 40 people showed up in a venue that held 4000.

The venue was supposed to be first-come, so even if the tiktokers ordered a million tickets with no intention of attendance, it wouldn’t have prevented the party faithful from getting in. The truth is, very few people wanted to listen to a rambling grandpa complain about his inability to navigate a ramp in platform shoes.

My impression is that the TikTok pranksters aren’t really responsible for the sparse turnout, but they are responsible for the Trump campaign’s laughably high EXPECTATIONS for turnout. As recently as a couple days ago Trump’s campaign manager was bragging about somewhere between 800,000 and a million attendees expected (which would be more than twice the entire population of Tulsa).

I was expecting the Trump campaign to be busing in loads of people from all over, to make sure that the place was packed. If they didn’t do that, someone was overconfident and cheap.
