putin as top don ( ouch no pun intended ) would make total sense to me. he’s not exactly a mobster himself. he’s got way too much on his plate for anything like that. the key enabler letting them do their thing, and dipping into all their pots… that’s more what i imagine.
and, really, i guess i don’t think donald’s ever been important enough to be anywhere near that level. a person like him wouldn’t normally be on putin’s radar, except that he’s accidentally president.
in the past, it sounds more like the trump family has been a sort of money laundering tool to members of the mob, and not ever a source of money themselves… they’re just not that adept at any business after all. ( they tanked a casino for god’s sake. )
so im sure he owes money and favors all over the place, to whole bunches of thugs. ( and men dressed in black on planes. or whatever. )
