Again who/where the hell are they polling?
And doesn’t it seem likely that even if the sources are legit, the data can be skewed, or even “gamed?”
Oh. Well, okay then.
“Donald Trump actually feels nothing but contempt for American service members and anyone who thinks he gives a shit about ‘The Troops’ is a fucking tool,” part 937:
QAnon’s motto is WHARRGARBL, right?
I’m sure it can be. Five Thirty Eight tries to apply an algorithm to adjust the polling numbers based on the methodology the pollster uses to get an adjusted approval rating. This is why Trump’s favorite pollster Rasmussen always shows significantly higher approval ratings for Trump than other pollsters. (Rasmussen does things like use loaded wording for their questions, rely on a smaller polling pool, and they only use land line polling which significantly alters their outcomes.)
It blows my mind how Trump can stay so consistently around the 40% range for the entirety of his presidency, barely moving past that. How is it that over 1 out of every 3 people support this fucking guy? It just boggles my mind.
Clearly we should take his word for it since he’s such an expert being an old white dude and all.
I’m having a really hard time believing those numbers.
Sadly pretty much all data can be skewed to reflect the desired outcome.
I’m still surprised it ever got that high in the first place but not really surprised how consistent it’s been since.
All of Trump’s key flaws were well known before the 2016 election. His racism, his misogyny, his narcissism, his open disdain for the troops, his brazen criminality, his gross incompetence and a thousand other flaws were plain to see for anyone who cared to see them not just from the beginning of his campaign, but from the beginning of his life as a public figure.
If a person couldn’t bring themselves to support him then, what has he done in the years since that could possibly change their mind?
If a person saw all that and decided to vote for him despite (or because of) all those flaws, what could he possibly do to lose their support?
Lose?
neglecting to call out one significant element of his brand — a political provocateur, one who has been willing to provide a platform for the far-right fringe
At least Variety acknowledge that. Many media outlets don’t.
Aside from that I don’t like how Spotify are muscling in on the podcast market. So far it’s only been the big players that I don’t care for anyway but I dread the day where someone I actually listen to signs a deal with them and I have to go their clunky platform to listen.
Lemme guess. Putin is still angry about Russia getting kicked out of the Olympics because his country can’t stop cheating?
Don’t get me wrong. The IOC is a corrupt mess that action really needs to be taken to address, but not on the orders of Dick Dastardly to keep kompromat at bay
A stark reminder that many people here in the states are also going to be unrepentant about horrifying things they’ll justify even when confronted with the facts
This is sickening. If this were before 2015, these elderly assholes wouldn’t dare speak out.
How long until “I never said that, fake news?”
