Failed attempt to move boat engine with a pickup truck

Toyota does. I have four hard points at the corners (more or less near the bottom of the cargo box) and I bought an adjustable rail system for attaching sliding mounts at the top. Best chunk of money i’ve spent on that truck, and it’s paid for itself several times over.

I don’t see it.

When you have an extremely heavy thing on a chain/(pendulum) i’d argue the worst thing you could ever do is ‘hit the gas’. Basic physics in action here…

You’d be wanting to aim for minimal acceleration possible, to avoid the effects ‘hitting the gas’ would enact.

“Hit the gas, Doug.”

Fourth grader Doug was supposed to be inside doing his chores and getting on with his homework. Mama didn’t know that he was outside hanging with her boyfriend and his drinkin’ buddies. Doug’s sister, who was doing the filming, was on her day off from her job at Walmart. She really likes going out on that boat, so she was lending moral support to the boys as they were pullin the engine, readying it for the upcoming long weekend at the lake.

Yes, that’s why I said the fail in the video was Doug’s complete inability to feather the gas and creep like a competent adult.

Eeeee, guy in the truck was lucky not to get his legs crushed. It wasn’t a terrible solution – you should see the hoist arrangement I have in my garage at the moment for a large sculptural piece I’m working on! But you’ve got to take it slow, and think through every move carefully.
