No, seriously - quite interesting that I saw FNM and Soundgarden before Guns and Roses not much later (before 1994, definitely). Was a great night, but I still would have preferred VoiVod.
This makes perfect sense to me, especially given that, historically (before the era of motion pictures), public speaking was a form of mass entertainment closely related to theater and music. I think it might become the norm in a Post-Industrial culture, as universities, research facilities, and art institutes evolve into ‘secular ashrams.’
