Fear that far-right terrorists will stage attacks if Brexit is canceled

It would be ironic if Brexit prompts the reunification of Ireland.

I live in Plymouth, where Astor became the first women MP to take her seat.
Elements here want a statue to her erected - Others are agast.

Mostly due to the Nazi thing and what they did to the city

Don’t be dense. Nobody is suggesting that we can stop fascism with “thoughts and prayers”. What I’m trying to point out is that these guys are already armed, organized, and looking for an excuse. The first Proud Boy to get his head cracked in a street fight is not going to be a sobering wake-up call, he will be hailed as a martyr and used to escalate the violence everywhere. If the cops and soldiers are all buying the propaganda on FOX news - like the article here says they will - then they will treat protesters like enemy combatants and there will be nobody to stop them.

Acting like this is an easy fight if we just nut up for it is playing with people’s lives and ignoring that the opposition has been obsessively prepping for that exact response. I don’t see anyone taking this threat seriously enough, and I suggest you start.

If you can.
Which you probably can’t.

Read the fine print. This was a shoving match and the Fascists backed down to prevent bloodshed. The Alt-Right comes to their rallies armed with pistols and assault rifles. They are not going to back down, they want an excuse to use deadly force in self-defense. Anyone who wants to armchair general the next “Battle of Cable Street” had better be prepared for an opposition that is more bloodthirsty than Mosley’s most fevered dreams.

The fascists are far more organized, trained, and armed today then they were at Cable Street, and I don’t see anyone on the side of the righteous willing to step up and take them on at the barricades. You think Cable Street is just going to repeat itself?

MP Jo Cox was shot, not stabbed…

How much training do you think they have had in the last two years? The English hooligans were outclassed by the Russian hooligans at the Euro 2016 football tournament. I also know British AntiFA has been training and organising for years, in a self defence and reactive force way.

Not in Britain. The police here have very firm views on that. Anyone who goes to a British rally with a gun is going to find out what it looks like in Paddington Green their nearest high security police station. The police don’t treat it as self-defence against AntiFA, they treat it as a terrorist threat to the general public.

And Armed Response is not a unit to mess around with. It’s not like in the States where there’s a 50-50 chance they’d fawn over your choice of firearms and escort you to the nearest bar for a drink.

Reminds me of this Laibach video…

Alternative interpretation, they agreed with and supported the Nazis, knowing full well what they might mean.

One of the more woke for the time towns in the St. Louis metro area refused to rename the main road through the town after Lindbergh specifically for that reason. So Lindbergh road up to the town borders on both ends.
