This doesn’t really bother me too much.
He thought it was part of an interview, so wasn’t going to say anything that he wouldn’t say in public anyway.
I can imagine on his end not being sure if this was a prank, a disorganized TV show that didn’t follow proper protocols, or a mess up in his office.
Refusing to participate, had it been real, would have been terrible PR. As it is, he just wasted a little of his time (and it probably gets more views than any real interview would, so he even gets to get his message out. There is no way he normally gets a “MUST WATCH” tag on his economic analysis.
