Wow, that is uncanny. Yikes.
I’ve been on a few selection committees for film festivals, usually I was one of the people that was the very first level of selection. So I would get assigned 2-3 full length movies a week to watch, do a short write up, and assign the movie a letter grade. The movies usually had short descriptions, which I started ignoring pretty early on because a lot of the time they were terrible. I found it best to go in blind to be able to give the movies a fair assessment.
Every time I hear about this movie all I can think about is that there was probably someone alone on lock down watching this for a selection committee and not knowing a thing about it before hitting play. To me that would seem fucking terrifying. I don’t think I would be able to watch now even knowing what it’s about.
We live in structures that are supposed to leak.
