I agree that we need more regulation, but wouldn’t use the pandemic response as a model. In the US, we’ve seen all too well how resistance to government emergency actions can be created if it conflicts with the interests of corporations. The pandemic is still going on, and those who wanted to ignore it and “get back to normal” have been getting their way. Even worse, the ability to declare or enact emergency measures were stripped from governors of multiple states, making it more difficult to manage any kind of crisis in the future. This makes me wonder if political backlash will result from the report @smulder posted.
