Florida gentleman nicknamed "The Joker" returns to prison a day after serving a 9-year sentence

My first impulse is to make jokes about “The Joker”, but I also can’t help but think society has failed him and lots of other people like him. The cutting of education funds, cutting of social services, we end up paying for it later in law enforcement costs, court costs, imprisonment, and just maybe some rehabilitation.

[ETA: and that’s not even considering the lives ruined, lives of both victims and perpetrators, and people tangentially connected with either.]

You’re all fuckers for mocking this guy. He’s probably got some fucked up background and/or mental health issues.

Back to prison for him for trying to escape!

It’s true, even if it’s one in a thousand who can turn their lives around, it’s worth finding that one and helping. Your tattoo removal link is a good idea too. That’s one smart thing they could / should offer for free in prisons perhaps. Because with some of the tattoos they have, no one will want to work with them.

One scary-looking dude who really shows what’s possible is Danny Trejo. He had a troubled upbringing and a fairly serious criminal background with a number of stints in prison, but now he’s a universally beloved actor and practically one of the core cast of Muppets, based on the number of cameos in their movies and shows.
