I am thinking of those cake pans whose outline suggests an obvious purpose but with some clever tricks can be re-used for something entirely different.

At least that’s somewhat hidden in the privacy of his yard.

If see one more of these on a pick up truck in front of me…

It’s not clear (to me) from reading the article whether the pool is recent, of if it has been there for 40 years, but it seems to me to be the latter case.

But I think that if it has been there for 40 years, it seems innocent enough. The guy likes guns. And IIRC, Libarace (who really liked pianos) had a piano shaped pool. It was the eighties… *shrug

However if it was recently commissioned, given the current political climate, well… that hits a little differently.

What is that?

It looks like an armed Rorschach test…

England is a cup of tea.
France, a wheel of ripened brie.
Greece, a short, squat olive tree.
America is a gun.

Brazil is football on the sand.
Argentina, Maradona’s hand.
Germany, an oompah band.
America is a gun.

Holland is a wooden shoe.
Hungary, a goulash stew.
Australia, a kangaroo.
America is a gun.

Japan is a thermal spring.
Scotland is a highland fling.
Oh, better to be anything
than America as a gun.

And Florida is a flaccid peninsula.

Because America didn’t have a major problem with handgun violence in the 80s? If anything handguns were the signature murder weapon of that decade. Heck, John Hinckley shot President Reagan 42 years ago next month.

I can see that my recommendation to the world to label everything gun related as NSFW is still not having an effect. I will continue to strive for a day when gun imagery is considered porn, and naked bodies are considered normal.

With a population of 29 million people you can be reasonably sure that several people in the state of Texas have pools like this as well.

Welcome to our pool. The safety is off— no lifeguard on duty.

I see no irony in accidentally drowning in a gun. :person_shrugging:

I hope the pool cleaning company charges extra for that thing. Looks like a nightmare to clean, especially the hammer area.

That looks super impractical for anything but just laying around in it.

I feel like he missed an opportunity for a swim up bar. Too triggering maybe?

This reminds me of a Lydia Lunch gig.
