So when the Government owned and ran it, did they have power and water? I mean, presumably they cogenerated electricity onsite somehow but I don’t imagine it was using an off-the-shelf Generac.

NB the Sprint missile was the last ditch part of the very short lived anti-ballistic missile system. Sprint accelerated at 100 Gs reaching a speed of Mach 10 in 5 seconds.

Just looking at all those pictures probably poses a risk of cancer and Aspergillosis. That said, the amount of engineering involved in building that place and outfitting all of the systems is pretty impressive. I can’t imagine what it would have been like working on a site like that during construction as a pipe fitter or electrician.
