The thing is, the entire point of the original satire was āthis stuff is silly and absurd, it just sounds reasonable because weāre used to itā. Taking Pastafarianism seriously and treating it like a āreal religionā is the exact opposite of the intended outcome.

The point actually is to have the government treat it like a real religion in an effort test the limits that long-standing religions are willing to endure when attempting to inject their ideologies into government policy. Iāve started to look at my rights, as a devout Pastafarian and ordained minister, to apply for full tax exemption on my mortgage by claiming it as a parsonage.
