Fox News' frozen food heir sure seems to want to have a beer with Putin

If I had to guess, I would say it’s a racist dog whistle (no pun intended), implying you should be hating China.

I wish Putin understood this. Unfortunately, he’s been inspired by Dugin and pressed by the need to retain the support of his followers to try and re-construct the Soviet empire. Picking fights with sovereign states it is, then, for this former KGB thug.

That is Negan-level wisdom right there.

To the surprise of no one, another one of Putin’s Pets spouted off:
You Know Who praises his owner
“I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine… Putin declares it as independent,” Trump said. “Oh, that’s wonderful.”
Reiterating Putin’s declaration of separatist territories as “independent,”

Trump then remarked “how smart is that” over the Russian president then labeling his invading military forces “peacekeepers.”

He also quipped that the United States should take that stance when it comes to its border with Mexico.
“We could use that on our southern border,” Trump exclaimed. “That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re gonna keep the peace all right.”

He continued of Putin: “Here’s a guy who’s very savvy. I know him very well. Very, very well.”
_
Now, let’s see just who follows his lead & starts praising Putin & blaming Biden. I wouldn’t be surprised to see MAGAts flying the Russian flag in addition to their other ones [QAnon, Confederate, LGB, etc]

In any case, we’ve seen this sort of thing before. The last time, some German guy was griping about needing some elbow room & claiming the population of a neighboring country was composed of Germans in need of annexing.
Putin sees himself as some sort of Neo-Czar.

Trump’s “very fine people” in Charlottesville had that as one of their slogans, “Russia is our friend”.

Checkmate, Tucker!

I’ve said this before, but I think Carlson, like a lot of other RW fascists with a platform, look at Trump and think, “if that idiot could be president, than a smart person like me could certainly do it”. So why not court the man who helped Donald in 2016?

Wait until he needs a bridging loan, and it can’t be done, even through Cyprus.

Sorry honey, but Vlad said to say that he’s never heard of you.

You main when a major power invaded another country based on entirely made-up pretenses, resulting in a couple hundred thousand deaths? Yeah, I can see some parallels with what Putin is doing. Doesn’t help that Tucker Carlson is for him doing it though.

I strongly suspect Trump’s reaction here is solely based from spite - from the embarrassment and drama that he associates with the word ‘Ukraine’.
I can’t imagine he knows or cares anything of the Donbas, its people or historical significance.
It’s just “Ukraine=bad and deserves bad things” in his malformed brain.

He doesn’t seem overly concerned with plausibility.

No, but he did have my classmate killed.

God, I am sorry to hear that you are that few degrees away from his violence.

I’ve said many times before that if The Manchurian Candidate was released today most GOP voters would assume Frank Sinatra’s character was the villain because he was trying to stop the Soviet conspiracy to put a Republican puppet in the White House.

We’re watching the Russian annexation of America’s frozen food inheritance.

”I know him very well. Very, very well.”

Hmmm, it wasn’t that long ago that you-know-who was denying knowing Putin. That of course was after he had previously said he had met him…

BTW. What’s the Russian for ‘lebensraum’?

Literally it is something like жизненное пространство, but it doesn’t have the same idiomatic weight (based on a text response from a Russian speaking foreign policy wonk friend. I don’t know Russian)
