There was this guy, an astrologer who was the guru of the former president Bolsonaro. Well, this guy called himself a philosopher and influenced the Brazilian alt-right. One day He stated that the Beatles couldn´t play guitar, as they were musical illiterate. He continued his rant saying that Theodor Adorno, the German social theorist, was the guy who wrote all the Beatles songs, just to pervert the western youth.
“They say the Beatles are semi-literate in music. They barely knew how to play the guitar. Theodor Adorno wrote their songs. Now do you know the devastating effect of the Beatles’ music? It’s all a celebration of LSD, drugs… You know how finished John Lennon and the others, right? Do you have any idea what a mess the Beatles did to the world?”

Hell, they’ve given up trying to get people to vote for them at all and have just basically run with the idea of having Donald Trump as dictator so they don’t have to deal with people not liking their bad ideas…
at this point it’s probably safe to assume Republicans only listen to the screams of dying children and Trump’s toilet grunts. Oh yeah, and Kid Rock.

No, because they are no longer the “free market” party (and never really were, at least since Reagan). They are the pro-oligarch and frankly, the pro-fascist party. There are LOTS of people that they DO NOT want voting at all.

Get out the Vote and voter registration campaigns are the bread and butter of politics of both the Democratic and Republican party for years, but by using weird conspiratorial language they make something mundane sound scary.
This is the same playbook that Fox news has been using for decades. It’s what John Stewart made his career skewering.
Agreed with your 2nd and 3rd sentences. However, I was referring to how they position themselves to their followers, not how they actually behave. Republican leaders are quite happy being two-faced to everybody, including the voters they court (deceive). If they didn’t have a complex & deceptive agenda, then the answer to my question might be yes.

I hope the Get out the Vote or whatever flavor it is this year really gets moving soon. And spending time talking about all the good things that Biden and the Dems have done, despite obstacles. I’m seeing massive voter apathy in my own completely Democratic inner family. And the scary part is a non-vote is essentially a vote for Trump.
BTW, Chicago area Spanish language news (Sinclair owned, 63% of the market share) ran a whole segment the other day on how people have had to take the mic away from Biden because he’s old and senile. On prime time, normal channel news.
Edit - btw, I’m not always on politics, but I’m 99% that never happened or Fox would be talking about it 24/7, with a second by second breakdown with telestrators, rather than just calling him old.
