Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-pack of pocket T-shirts

Has it occurred to you that some of his savings pay for this very bandwidth you are using?

You will save many from poverty with your exaggerations here today.

Seriously, you think that Mark saving $20 when he buys his shirts enables the continued existence of BB? Seriously?..

Hey Mark, when is the last time you paid the hosting bill out of your own personal checking account?

AcerPlantanoides, please give a specific example of an exaggeration in my postā€¦

Here is one example

In your shoes, Iā€™d have just said I had found a great place to buy shirts that I felt were responsible, and left maybe a link. Speaking of shoes, are your shoes made in any way by underpaid labor? Have any links to them for us? How about these shirts he ought to have purchase?

Striking blows for the working poor on someone elses blog, using electronics made in conditons you claim to deplore, by shaming someone over their undershirt choice. Youā€™re doing it wrong.

Right now theyā€™re $19.50, and only $18 apiece if you buy four. Seriously, theyā€™re very well-made. Iā€™m wearing one right now, and generally do four days a week. Iā€™ve worn them for years, and never actually worn any of them out.

For the lighter-weight shirts, however, I used to get mine at American Apparel. Anyone know if theyā€™ve gotten their shit back together yet?

And again, the perfect is the enemy of the good. Clothing is low-hanging fruit.

U.S.-manufactured New Balance, BTW.

Mark is an adult. I canā€™t pick his clothes for him, and what works for me may not be his style/weight/fit. I am, however, pretty sure he knows how to use The Googleā€¦

Trying to be not-snarky for a moment: you get really defensive whenever people criticize BoingBoing or its writers, in a way that you donā€™t do otherwise. I feel like, if Jaredā€™s post had been in response to a random commenter recommending Fruit of the Loom, your reaction would have been much less aggressive.

Iā€™d love to, actually, but Iā€™ve previously had trouble finding decent-looking, affordable models. They seem to fall into two categories: shoddy, ultracheap, and marketed to teenage martial arts wannabees, or designer-brand and $200+. If you have any suggestions Iā€™d be happy to take a look!

Edit: Wait, do you mean ā€œwear tabi socks with sandalsā€, or ā€œwear tabi shoes instead of sandalsā€?

(I do have a pair of Vibram Fivefingers toe shoes*, which are lovely, but for me theyā€™re even worse than sandals: they absolutely reek if I wear them sockless for more than a few weeks, and thereā€™s the added problem that socks with toes are expensive compared to my usual discount Hanes 10-packs.)

*That distant wail you hear is the sound of the Internet Fashion Police switching on their sirens.

Edit again: LAST
