Fuck Elon Musk (Part 1)

$11 is pretty GD cheap if one wants to create chaos and spread misinformation.

Extremely expensive though if you are anyone of note that provides value to Twitter by tweeting

And downright extortionate as the only way to protect your good name if it even does that.

It will be fun to see what happens when Twitter becomes a mixture of anybody can get a blue check mark for money, there are a bunch of people with existing handles that are known to be notable people who will not pay for Twitter blue, and there also a ton of unpaid, unchecked Twitter users creating fake accounts against those accounts!

… I mean, this may be obvious, but when anybody can get a blue check, why would anyone want one

There will always be people that will pay for anything, so there is that.

By knocking the price of ads 50% Elon has theoretically doubled the number of ads on twitter, so having that knocked in half is…something.

I assume that Twitter is being very transparent to advertisers and telling them that their ads are not reaching paying customers to the same degree…right?

Buying blue makes it easier for you to harass people, since your replies and DMs are more specialer and will not be just tossed out by the algorithm.

So, basically this is kind of a “Nice social media presence you have there. shame if anything happened to it” deal, except that it fails to take into acct that twitter depends on it’s users for content and has nothing without them.

The first of many losing lawsuits, I imagine. Also, Tesla is now on the record for false advertising, which is funny because Tesla doesn’t advertise, it’s just Elon saying shit on twitter. So I guess we now have a judgement that Elon is a liar who should really get to work inventing something useful, like fire proof pants

I don’t see any reason to trust that Elon’s Twitter wouldn’t create a separate advertising package to be assured to reach the subscribers. If it lasts that long.

Musk is disbanding what few protections Twitter had against horrific abuse and is now intentionally endangering the lives of the people who worked for years, often without pay, to protect the innocent.

Even for a scumbag like Musk this is a new low. (Though each passing day brings new opportunities for him to outdo himself.)

That’s why he doesn’t have a home and moves around every night.

Harder to target.
