Chicago has the same problem. The only thing holding those old pipes together – and simultaneously protecting residents from the lead pipes – is 70+ years of mineral scale build-up lining the pipes.
They found some old wooden pipes when they dug in Center City.

He is one of of favorite “just make me laugh, but teach me something i didn’t know” youtubers, along with zefrank. His delivery is so deadpan.
