I mean they aren’t paying direct attention to me (I don’t think), but I have to see a Dr every month just to get scripts filled, and 1 or 2 drug tests during the year. It’s awesome how 6 or 7 years ago I got a 3 month supply in the mail that lasted more like 5 months because I took less than the maximum prescribed amount. And now Costco won’t fill a script a week early due to scheduling issues with my doctor.
Holy crap - one month? I wouldn’t even know how to function…
I was debit card free for a week when they changed card designs and I must have missed them in the mail, and then they deactivated the current cards I had. Doh!
Spent a whole afternoon scratching lampposts. With a knife, just to be sure no possible razorblades (Neo-fascists in Berlin and Brandenburg used this as a tactic) could get in the way. Got looks, but the only one asking what I was doing was an approximately 8 year old girl.
Feeling better, but still anxious.
On the positive side, cremation is planned for tomorrow. The paperwork until now was … annoying is the wrong word… don’t know.
We chose a forest to bury the urn, legally. Need to find a date, consensually with a whole murder of crows (of you allow the metaphor). And need to get done a hell full of other stuff. Heard there are seven or nine hells. One is full of buerocrats, if you ask me. Especially bankers are bonkers.
Oh, and I’ll see a therapist.
I’m already on antidepressants, just to get some sleep, very small dosage. If anyone knows “Momo” by Michael Ende (HIGHLY recommended read!): I’m running on borrowed time. At one point, reality will catch up. But I’m preparing myself, and trying all to protect the ones I love from the fallout of this shitshow.
One of my children (in kindergarten) complains a lot about stomach pains. It happens mostly in the morning on school days. I’ve talked to their teachers and they seem to do fine when they are at school, so I had it down to them just not being a morning person.
One day they expressed to me that they felt like grown-ups don’t listen. They had told me and my spouse and their teachers about their stomach pains and no one cares. So I talked to them about this and out of that conversation came up with the idea of making a spreadsheet to keep track of the stomach pains. They were really excited about this idea. We decided to record date, time, a description of the pain and the location of the pain. After we got a couple weeks of data my spouse was going to the doctor for something unrelated and said they’d bring the spreadsheet along and talk to the doctor about it.
So today I’m helping the kindergartener get dressed and trying to send them off to brush their teeth but they won’t got. I go through some emotion coaching and I’m moving into behaviour coaching when they say, “I always thinks about monsters.” So I decided to pick them up and talk to them about it. At part of the conversation I asked what the monsters do and they said, “Kill me.” I tried to prompt them to think about things that made them feel safe and they told me that they only felt safe when I was there. I reminded them of other adults that looked after them and asked if anyone else made them feel safe and they said “teachers” but it came out like they were saying what they thought they were supposed to say.
So now I feel like my kid has been walking around for months thinking about dying all the time and thinking they couldn’t tell anyone because no one would listen.
School-aged children in the U.S. face more lethal danger than active military. Of course your child has picked up on this, even if you are careful to keep them protected when they’re with you.
The birds-&-bees talk is so much easier than the one we now have to have with our children about safety while at school.
Another phone call to the credit union and I found out they still had my address formatted incorrectly. This last person fixed it, read it back correctly,
Name
Street Address, Suite #
PMB #
City, Zip Code
…when previous customer service people had put it in as
Name
Street Address, Suite, PMB
City, Zip Code
It took one month and 3 tries to get it right. I should have my card next week.
@anon50609448, if you want to find out what’s the deal with the stomach pain you could probably try to keep track of their foodstuff as well. Allergies are comparability rare in children, but being allergic to birch pollen and having a strong cross reaction to kiwi is educational: eating a specific kind of food can make your intestinal tract hurt. You could also try milk - sole children loose the ability to process lactose very early, as far as I remember. Especially in Hispanic and some Black communities, as far as I know even more so in some native American ones, gene regulation is an interesting subject for ethnomedicine. (I didn’t bring this up in the other topic, but there are genetic differences between ethnic groups, and medication basically has been tested on white middle aged men of moderate weight…)
However - tracking might also just add to your anxiety. And oh my parenting makes everyone very anxious.
So here’s the fun stuff in the valley. Got a very polite letter from Wells-fargo () that they needed a bit more info to complete my loan application. Rather startling, since I did no such thing. Contacted them to find that some fine gentlemen in Maryland had obtained my personal info and opened a checking account, then applied for a personal loan. They had everything they needed except a pay stub. This was 11/20. Today, 2+ weeks later, I get a statement on said checking account. Upon calling them back, I find the account was never closed and is still active. They are unable to explain this “oversight” on their part. I really hate We-Fuckyou lots and lots. Just to be clear, never had an account with them, never will. And yet they keep closing every call with “thank you for choosing Wells-Fargo.” Fuck you! I did not choose you! No, i was grumpily polite with the employees on the phone, i realize not their fault, but damn, it was hard to hear that again and again. Now off to freeze my credit reports. Fun rainy Monday.
They don’t, but I think I do. Employer changed 7/1 and the had the new employer, which makes the time frame limited. Also had my info but not my wife’s, and everything we have is joint, so I suspect they got info from either employer’s files or IRS info filed by employer. Unfortunately not the first time. Last time they tried to file a fake tax return, but raised a red flag by filing single. Have I mentioned how much I hate this timeline?
If your name and information is on the account, why don’t you close it? Go into a Wells Fargo, show them your ID, and close out the account. Ask for the balance in cash, if you can, or else a certified check.
What’s the guy going to do…complain to the police that you stole money out of your own account? It certainly would be one way to find out his real identity.
And then contact all of the credit companies and tell them to lock down your accounts because you’ve been the victim of identity theft. They are required to respond to that.
My concern is I told them 2 weeks ago it was fraudulent and they did not close it, after saying they would. Well, that and the whole taking out a personal loan in my name thing.
So many years ago now I closed my BOA account. Fast forward a month a statement saying I owe fees for an empty account. Go in again and was told it all fixed by the teller. One month later I go back in again very pissed off and the floor staff noticed my irate face. One of them properly closed the account with much apologies.
They probably can’t close it because they have to move the money somewhere. It’s a Catch-22. So take the money out. And make sure the loan does not get approved. And lock your credit rating, so that you have to give permission any time someone wants to run a credit check on your name. It’s free, but a hassle.
