Fulfilling an ancient prophecy, a raven has left the Tower of London

You seem to have conflated two things.

I expressed no opinion about the superstition/prophecy that bad things would follow if the ravens all left the Tower.

I did express an opinion that Thom Dunn, who posted the article, had got it back to front by writing a headline that said there was a prophecy that ravens would leave the Tower.

There does seem to be much to confirm your view that the whole ‘bad things will happen if ravens leave’ superstition, however.

Apparently

All but one of the ravens at the Tower of London died from stress during the Blitz.

(Taken from a Daily Mirror article) So there were less than 6 at that point.

But welcome to the BBS and thanks for the support.

@Purplecat Well, I was pretty choughed about it.

It will be fine, or even better with just 5 ravens. Everything gets better if you just take things away!

They’re just spreading the good word.

Nostradamus: Bolloques prophetiques 1555, Canto xvii

In the isles of Albion
John’s Son shall seize power.
His rule shall suck greatly,
With famine amid plenty.

The black birds of ill-omen
Shall leave the white castle
And take ship unto France.
It’s that or be eaten.

FTFY. No, you’re welcome.

But did he, though? As the Head of Bran was called “Uther Ben” or “Marvellous Head” and Arthur’s dad was Uther Pen-dragon.
