Indeed, the candidates of both parties usually use California as an ATM when it comes time to finding financial backers for their national campaigns. This isn’t just the state with the largest number of rich donors, it’s also the state with the largest overall number of Republicans in general. Alienating the entire state would be an idiotic move for any candidate.

Perhaps somebody should trick DeSantis onto a plane and strand him somewhere in Venezuela against his will. I’m sure he’d be fine with that, since it’s totally not kidnapping.
