This will be the first World Cup since I was a small child that I won’t be watching. As an adult I’ve done all sorts of contortions with my work schedule to watch as many matches as possible. I feel a slight let down when the group stages are over and there isn’t three matches on every day!

Fuck the corruption. Fuck the sports washing. Soccer is done for me. To be clear the standard of play is extraordinary now, best it’s ever been. I gave up on the Olympics long ago obviously.

Seriously, the pre-season predictions were more like seventh bottom, and Carlisle’s best players are injured. Paul Simpson looks like he is going to be the 21st century Bob Stokoe if he can keep this up.

Crypto FC are doing as badly as I expected. Maybe NFTs are not a good way to run a football club?

They’ve replaced the Pro Bowl with flag football. I’m pretty sure that’s a trial balloon to assess the eventual shift of the entire NFL to something like flag football.

Have you ever watched flag football played at a high level? It’s a lot more fun to watch than collision football. It just loses the drama from the brutality of collision football, which really isn’t something that should be encouraged.

They would be tied into a British bid, which I am currently opposed to. Brexiter bad behaviour should not be rewarded.
