not feeling the love for USian “independence day”, this year.
big booms in a night sky may be impressive to look at, but this year, after all we are seeing destroyed of our supposedly glorious democracy, i cannot find a celebratory nerve in my body.
that there will be parades with flags and martial bands and explosive extravaganza seem somehow hollow to me. a sham.
the people want spectacle.
i want it all to be true.
sorry to be a downer, but i will be opting out of any celebration this year.
