The Democrat Convention platform might be interesting.

#598

Was that deliberate?

#599

No. Just lazy.

But I am interested to see how Cornel West gets on, also James Zogby; and Neera Tanden following the kerfuffle with Matt Bruenig last week.

That hedgehog has really little hands.

#602

It’s a good thing it’s a long weekend, because I have a lot of drinking to do.

Birds flock together; turds clump together.

#604

This isn’t going to get better any time soon, is it?

#605

it’s gonna be a looooooooooong summer.

#606

At least the conventions should be good for some comic relief. Unless it turns into 1968 again. And I’m not sure how I’d feel about that.

#607

Fortunately there’s the Copa America 2016. We can watch Team USA play all kinds of people Trump hates.

#608

Interesting news in my morning paper: the old guard in the Democratic Party in my state has just been shaken up; a Sanders supporter is now the state’s party chair. The old leadership was mainly in the tank for Clinton (all but Tulsi), even though Sanders supporters were dominant in our caucuses.

I wonder where else this is happening?

Thanks for that. Following will definitely improve my twitter experience. Currently it’s a little heavy on news and Bad Shit in The World ™, and a little light on politeness and delightfulness.

#611

I honestly follow more squirrels on Twitter than anything else. Log onto Twitter, see dozens of squirrels doing silly things interspersed with the insanity of the world, and it’s much less depressing.

#612

Huge uptick in support in CA for Pricklepants.

#613

Yea!!! “Pricklepants! Pricklepants!”

(I did canvass in my neighborhood.)

Sorry if this is too local, but I know there are some other San Diegites on the bbs- this mailer regarding the mayor’s race arrived in my mail today, which to me signals the start of The Silly Season:

The current mayor is, as far as I can tell, pretty much nothing like Trump. He strikes me as pretty boring milquetoast, which is totally fine by me considering the drama-queen shitshow the previous mayor was. And on top of that he explicitly won’t endorse Trump, which makes the guilt-by-association innuendo that much more puzzling and smacking of desperation.

I imagine a lot of down-ticket Republicans are going to get this treatment, and really, it’s just insulting to our intelligence. I’ve never heard of the candidate behind the mailer but I’m not voting for someone that thinks I’m that stupid, full stop.

Then there is the other mailer that is labeled “Independent Voter Guide”, in which every candidate is a Democrat, and the fine print implies that candidates can buy their way onto this so called “voter guide”.

This is going to be a shitty summer.

#615

He seems to be the same color as Trump.

#616

I’m not going to vote for him because I don’t agree with his economic policy, but I wanted to put this here because I have to say, Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate seems to be the nicest person running for President - possibly ever.

This interview with Samantha Bee is great.
