If I’d been able to tell the me of a year ago that Russian intelligence was engaging in sophisticated cyber-espionage to not only attack and discredit select politicians around the globe that Russia would like to see harmed, but that they’ve got an army of sock puppets and propaganda manipulating political opinions globally via social media, and that Wikileaks had been Russia’s bidding serving “leaks” fed for the benefit of the Kremlin, I’d have laughed it off as cold war paranoia. Putin installed a puppet POTUS.

I think that’s due to what’s been a traditional difference between Republicans and Democrats that’s gotten more and more stark recently.
Democrats bring in progressive-leaning centrists because their theory has been “reach across the aisle, find common ground, and don’t get too lefty, because that’ll set off alarm bells”.
But the current Republican theory has been HAHA, WE WON, SO LET’S BURN IT ALL, UP YOURS, AMERICA!
So maybe next time a Democrat comes into power, they won’t be as centrist-minded.

He’s pretty much tacitly admitting that right now by going on his “victory tour” and holding rallies, telling crowds that he missed how much fun campaigning was, and insisting that he’ll keep holding rallies all the time while President. Yelling at people and making crazy shit up: that’s fun! Actually doing the work? Hm, boring. Where’s Pence?
