Eh. I grew up in Connecticut, it’s basically the same as any suburb in America, it just stretches from New York to Massachusetts. Plenty of assholes in Connecticut, plenty of assholes in Texas, plenty of assholes everywhere. They let their voices be heard this past November, and now we all have to deal with it.

It will never get traction because the Thanks Obama meme drew its ironic strength from all the good things Obama actually did for people, this made it able to have many uses and interpretations.
You could say Thanks Obama when Obama did something you wanted to thank him for.
You could say Thanks Obama when Obama actually did something bad.
You could say Thanks Obama when the badness or goodness of the action actually had no relation to Obama and by so doing make fun of idiots who would assume it did.
Since Trump will never actually do anything that will benefit anyone but Trump your Thanks Trump will be less flexible and as such less an amusing meme.
The only time that a Thanks Trump meme would actually be amusing would be at:

It’s possible I suppose, but my personal guess is that he’s never seen any serious military action or lost anyone who’s served.
The jackass is literally beating his chest to try and show his dominance like a gorilla.
There’s actually some pretty rough areas in Connecticut, New Haven and Bridgeport, old industrial areas like Detroit, and Yale leeching all the municipal tax services without paying for it.
