My personal solution to those that snatch, or otherwise mutilate signs is something straight out of machinists history.
By the color of their hands shall ye know them. I apply Dykem High Spot Blue. This is a compound used when fitting parts to very close tolerances. It’s basically a thin Vaseline like compound, mixed with a very tenacious dye. As in you have to wait for the skin to flake off tenacious. It is formulated to never dry out, and the MSDS claims it is non toxic.
When actually using it to fit parts, you wear nitrile gloves, and have to learn to not scratch your nose. Imagine you are back in the days when we still had tool and die makers, and phones were bolted to the wall in the foreman’s office, came with a rotary dial, and were available in your choice of black. It was a standard jape to give the foreman blue ear syndrome, by applying a thin coat to the earpiece, and waiting for the next call.
Tl:dr, call an industrial supplier, and get a tube of marking compound, apply in a thin coat to the darker edges of your sign. The perpetrator can dissolve away the carrier, the dye will remain.

Do note that “Refuse Fascism” is a front group for the RCP (Revolutionary Communist Party). It’s ironic that they claim to oppose mass killings, while their party line is in favor of Mao’s Cultural Revolution, the Khmer Rouge, and the Shining Path. Until 2001, their official position was:

I know current and former members, and these guys are legit a cult. All authoritarians deserve scorn.

Real fascists are horrible, yes. This guy, though, I just feel sorry for. On the basis of the chat transcript above, he’s autistic and not the smartest cookie. I think he’s just latched on to the alt-right because it’s overly simplistic, and lets him feel in control, righteous, and superior.

Yeah, but there’s some punching-downwards here that I’m uncomfortable with. I think the crux here is whether someone has chosen to follow a nasty ideology because it lets them be nasty, or because they’ve been convinced the opposition are the nasty, foolish ones.
At some point, you have to give the people who aren’t inherently awful room to manoeuvre; if they’re just attacked, they will entrench. So… yeah, stand up to fascism, but do it in a way that lets people change their minds about you themselves. If they have to lose some pride, to… ‘lose’, to do so, it’s pretty much not going to happen. Human nature.
