Still angry about the mid-series switch in Darrens I guess.
I suppose if your goal is to go to jail, vandalizing property is a pretty safe way to do that. It’s not exactly victimless but it’s not far from that, either. I do wonder if the “resisting arrest” was due to either being drunk or maybe the cops didn’t want to arrest him for only vandalization and he had to step it up a notch?
Conservatives reacting to the news of a statue getting vandalized but it’s a statue about a witch character from a show that was about witchcraft
But the witch was a blonde white woman…
Unlike the portion of the local economy devoted to witch related tourism, esp around Halloween.
It was Aunt Agatha all along.
Tourism sure is a strange beast.
Hopefully at least part of his punishment will involve community service helping clean the statue he vandalized. That would only be appropriate.
I understand Vlad the Impaler’s castle is basically a Dracula-themed attraction these days too.
Apparently there is no human rights atrocity that can’t be appropriated into a tourist trap given enough time.
I do get that the concern about the making light of an historic tragedy.
So this guy did this simply because he needed his basic needs met and that meant getting arrested and going to jail.
You do realize the original darren died forcing a change
He was in too poor health to continue the series, but Dick York didn’t die until 1992.
Tragedy + Time + Tchotchkes = Tourism
Including the biggest genocide of all time:
My (Jewish) wife once attended a Presbyterian daycare as a kid and even at that time recognized that the playful way that Noah’s Ark was depicted as a happy gathering of animals enjoying a boat ride was masking over the fact that a vengeful god was killing nearly every living being on earth, including children and babies.
@pesco Samantha used to “twitch” her nose but there is only one t in Bewitched
I just assumed he was referring to the porn “parody.” Ooh, so many Dicks…
