My professor of geography back at Tulane took our class on a bicycle trip out to see this old plantation. He told us that, being right over the Orleans parish line, the LeBeau was the perfect place to run a gambling joint, and found its heyday in the early 20th century. I liked its teal hurricane shutters.
It’s a fond memory, and I’m sorry to see it go.
