Good (Encouraging) Stuff (Part 1)

There seems to be some evidence of that, for sure… I don’t think the money and fame helped, cause that always ends up with people surrounded by yes men and women seeking to ride your coattails by flattery…

Money allows you the opportunity to show everyone who you are under your best circumstances. Oddly, rarely is this as good a person as you would be in your worst circumstances.

And cocaine.

It’s also been interesting listening to the various gaming podcasts I follow talk about the games coming in 2023 - across the board when Hogwarts Legacy comes up it’s a unanimous “I feel bad for the people that worked on it, but fuck that game and J.K. Rowling”.

Now it is true that I only listen to game podcasts that are hosted by non-assholes, so that is probably part of this, but IGN Gamescoop (come for the “meh” news coverage, stay for gaming 20 Questions and weird synthpop) is not exactly a bastion of leftist thinking so I am really curious to see how it goes.

“In May, National Grid had to ask some turbines in the west of Scotland to shut down, as the network was unable to store such a large amount of electricity when a then record 19.9GW of power was produced – enough to boil 3.5m kettles.”

Yes, it’s a UK story.

Understandable, given that you guys don’t have proper football fields what with the ridiculous handegg and stuff.

Just to be clear, those are Imperial (liquid, Br.) kettles, not SI kettles.

How much energy does it take to boil a double-decker bus?

“…each tree planted in a community was associated with significant reductions in non-accidental and cardiovascular mortality among humans living nearby.”

“Non-accidental”. So the study ignored the increase in people killed by trees falling on them?
