Good morning boing boers, what are our plans today?

Went on a road trip to Grand Rapids for the long weekend.

I hope to spear some gar in the river this evening. Maybe get into some Blue catfish. Also get in some dancing with the missus.

Will be talking a walk here with a friend and her dog. We go almost every afternoon and I get to pet and say who’s a good doggie to the tons of good doggies running around.

could you explain how it keeps? Do you freeze it, or what?

I’ve always used ice cube trays, and then double bagged those pesto cubes. You can drop em right in the pan, frozen, when you need a little fresh. @anon15383236, what do you do? Recipes??

I do freeze it, and I’ve tried the ice tray method, but prefer to use those cheap little ziploc containers (it tastes just fine thawed, pretty much the same, seems to me). I think the containers are a little bigger than ice cubes, so one is enough for pastas and such. More self-contained, too, neater, which I like. I wash them and use them again the next year.

Oh, and I hear harvesting in the morning is better, since the leaves have more oil in them at that time of day? Not sure about that, should look that up!

As for recipes, I mostly improvise pastas, and also enjoy it by itself in meals that include other small things, like crackers, a nice bread, hummus, olives, tomato slices, red onions, etc. And some red wine, of corz! If I have an especially big harvest, I also use it in tomato sauces, and in some soups.

San Francisco Comic Con, here I come! (Didn’t have time to come up with a good costume for myself but my daughter is going to wear the Princess Bubblegum costume we made last Halloween.)

I thought the board censored only a few words
nigger – which is racist
■■■■■ – which is dank
cuck – which is a paraphilia with racist overtones.

I say experiment away!

When I first read that I thought we were in for a discussion regarding a new subculture of conservative South African pogo enthusiasts.

(Which is exactly the kind of weird shit I can see @xeni or @frauenfelder writing a post about)

Wild garlic pesto is amazing too, if sadly out of season, but blanch the leaves first, or you’ll break your food processor.

Oooh, thanks, something to consider next year.

The flowers are super-garlicky too, and look amazing on, say, spaghetti with lemon butter sauce, or stirred into black pasta with some really good olive oil.

Food processor?

I use a molcajete.

Gotta go to the store; get some charcoal; get the wings pre-prepped and into the frig; and finally get the pork roast into the brine.

And Laundry with a capital L. And the pets washed. And the bathrooms cleaned. And mop.

Humm … maybe not all of that. Maybe I’ll just re-watch seasons 1 through 4 of the office, instead.

I know, right? The dogs there have no shame. They all run around naked and sniff whoever’s butt they want and chase anyone’s tennis balls or frisbees. Eww!
