it seems to me that the KISS one is rotating in the wrong direction. even though i hate animated GIFs in general, i actually rather like these. i think it’s because i miss the importance of old LP artwork.

There is something to be said for implied motion as far as dramatic impact goes. IMHO, these animations are very similar to someone explaining a joke. While the latter makes a joke no longer funny, animating implied motion makes the image have less visual impact.
